We are collecting new/gently used suitcases, backpacks, & duffel bags in a variety of sizes & colors for children in Kansas foster care through June 5!

At Susan’s Kids, we recognize the profound impact of the journey into foster care, where children often face abrupt transitions and uncertainty.

Did you know that when a child enters foster care, they are given about 10 minutes to pack their belongings, often resorting to using a black trash bag? It's a heartbreaking reality compounded by the fact that, on average, a foster child will move 7 times.

When these children no longer have to rely on trash bags, the replacement luggage they receive is often inadequate—wrong sizes, scribbled on, stained, outdated, or broken. It's a reflection of a system that often overlooks the basic dignity of these vulnerable young individuals.

We aim to restore that dignity by hosting an annual Bag Drive. Beyond providing proper luggage, we can create a sense of stability and care for these children as they navigate what is often a temporary normal. No child should feel disposable.
