Officially Forever
Adoptive mom, Brandi, shares her adoption experience with her daughters, Jasary & Tamra!
On the 17th of November at the age of 17 Tamra officially became a Martin, but she was already home long before then. Our daughter Jasary, who was adopted last year, and Tamra have been sisters long before we knew their names. At one point in our girl's journey through foster care, they lived together in a group home where a sister-like relationship began. Tamra’s journey through foster care and finding a place to call her own held both beauty and pain. Adoption is not about erasing our daughter's first family but growing the idea of what family means and looks like. For the Martins, this means embracing the present moments but also holding space for special memories and trusting God with the spaces in between.
We are thankful for Susan’s Kids who put a face and a voice to the name we had been praying for. We are honored beyond measure that our daughters call us Mom and Dad. Our girls have bravely chosen to embrace this adventure together. Bravery is not being fearless or perfect, it is doing it scared and showing up no matter what. And no matter what our family is officially forever!
