Welcome, Aiken Family!

This family welcomes their 3 new children!

Tim and Karen Aiken have adopted 3 children, Sam, Vincent, and Ella, after “a long haul.”

Susan was able to join them on their celebratory journey for National Adoption Day, a day that the whole family had been anxiously waiting for. "They don’t have to worry” about getting split up, leaving their friend groups, or having to move ever again.

12 year old Ella says that she used to be “worried about my siblings being taken away.” Not anymore. This family is officially permanent! Vincent gets a place to put his trophies, Sam gets to relish being big brother, and Ella has someone to take her to her horseback competitions.

“To give them a better life than what they had is why we did this,” says Karen. That’s what adoption means for older children: a better life and some well-deserved permanency.
